ABOUT CYNTHIA EDDINGS, LMFT
I understand this work from the inside out.
I know what it is to organize your entire sense of aliveness around another person. To mistake the heat of a difficult relationship for proof that you're alive. To survive by looking outside yourself for something that could only ever be found within.
And I know what it takes to find your own fire.
With the help of a gifted therapist, I found the inner strength to walk away from a ten-year relationship that was keeping me from myself. That experience cracked open something I couldn't close again — a deep understanding of how our survival responses, shaped long before we know it, can keep us from the life we most want to live.
That's what brought me to this work. And it's what keeps me here.
WHAT I BELIEVE
Empathy was missing in my own early life. My healing showed up in the form of being truly seen and understood by therapeutic helpers who walked beside me. My heart's work is doing that for others.
I believe you are not broken. I believe the parts of you that are running the show — the over-explainer, the people-pleaser, the one who goes silent or explodes — are doing exactly what they learned to do to keep you safe. They just haven't gotten the message that you're ready for something different.
My job is to help you send that message. In your body, not just your mind.
HOW I WORK
I practice somatic, parts-based therapy — which means we don't just talk about what's happening, we work with how it lives in your body. You'll learn to recognize when a survival response has been activated, to pause before you react, and to meet the parts of yourself that have been at the helm with compassion rather than shame.
This is trauma-informed, embodied work for adults who are done surviving and ready to start navigating.
I work with adults in California and Arizona via telehealth.

OUTSIDE THE THERAPY ROOM
You'll find me on a hiking trail, on a yoga mat, or fully present at someone's invitation for a coffee with my phone face-down in my pocket. I believe in practicing what I teach — including knowing when I've done enough for the day.
It’s not your fault.
You can reclaim yourself.
If something here resonates here, I’d love to talk.
